Located into the Cotopaxi National Park, the volcano has a snow-capped peak almost exactly like a cone, which is something unique on the planet; this destination offers a wonderful panoramic view of the surroundings, vegetation, and mineral features left by ancient volcanic eruptions. ¡You must visit it at least once in your life!
It is located 1 and a half hours from Quito, so thanks to its proximity it is advisable to book a day trip from the capital. Keep in mind it is necessary to take a tour to enter the park!
Places to visit
At 7:30 a.m. we set off to our destination. The bus picks up passengers from the hotel.
You will enter the National Park from where the ascent will begin.
You will arrive at the first refuge “José Rivas” (4800 m) where you will explore this wonderful volcano.
Visit Limpiapungo Lake during the descend by bikes
If you suffer from high blood pressure, heart disease, and respiratory diseases, do not forget to consult your doctor before participating in any tour involving altitude (Cotopaxi approx. 4800m).
